While most schools have school counselors who provide similar support to Origo, given how extensive and complex the university landscape and college application process is, some students may want an external consultant who is dedicated to understanding you and your aspirations, providing you with key insights and information about available programs and schools, and guiding you through the end-to-end college application process. We would like to be that dedicated team. We are knowledgeable and passionate, and are here to ensure that applications are well crafted, and importantly, follow an application strategy to optimize your chance at landing your dream university.

We strongly encourage students to start early - and 9th grade isn't too early. A common belief is that college applications begin in 12th grade, but the earlier you start thinking about college, the better you are able to develop a student profile catered to what a specific school or program may be looking for. The goal starting in 9th grade is to have the grades, the extracurriculars, the test scores, and the knowledge to gain admissions to a top university.

For our High School Planning package, we accept students in 9th, 10th and 11th grade all year long and work towards building a robust profile that encourages academic excellence, contribution to the community, and the courage to explore interests, curiosities, and quirks. For our College Application Shaping package, we accept students in their second semester of 11th grade until their first semester of 12th grade. 

We have found success working with overseas students before, and do accept students outside of the Indonesia, but the engagement will largely be through online messaging, email, voice, or video call communication. It's critical that you as a parent or student are comfortable with that.

Yes, upon engagement we will provide students and parents with access to our online platform, which includes a complete database of university profiles, personality assessments, and an application management system that allows students, parents, and us to check the progress of each application. Often, parents check in on their child's progress to see if they can be of assistance - with this tool, they get full visibility of their child's completed and pending tasks and applications.

The Origo events are hosted by Amanda Ng and Sharon Koharjo, the founders of Origo, in hopes that students will develop a stronger technical understanding to gain an edge on their college applications.
